Why doesn’t my eBook look like my printed book?
Both your print on demand (POD) and your eBook (ePub and mobi) will be created from the same manuscript. Therefore the content (text and images) will be the same and they will read the same. They just won’t look the same.
Why is that? A POD book is fixed-the formatter sets the fonts and margins, whereas an ebook is flexible-the eReader sets the fonts and margins. The reader selects the eReader to read with. There is a huge difference between reading a book on an iPhone, iPad, Kindle and Nook. Each of these devices has a different screen size. iPhone images usually take up most of the screen, whereas on the iPad they are displayed with the text.
Remember, there are many eReaders manufactured by different companies and each company basically follows their own design specifications. All this will change the way your book looks, but the story will remain the same.
